Introduction
This Pricing Policy governs the commission structure, bonus calculation methodology, payout timelines, and all financial terms applicable to participants in the Techies Africa Affiliate Referral Programme (the "Programme").
By registering for the Programme, you agree to be bound by this Pricing Policy in full. This document should be read alongside the Techies Africa Affiliate Referral Programme Terms of Service, which govern your general participation in the Programme.
If anything in this document is unclear, contact us at support@techies.africa before registering. We are committed to full transparency in all financial matters relating to the Programme.
Part A — Commission Structure
A1. How Commissions Are Earned
You earn a referral commission when all three of the following conditions are satisfied:
Condition 1 — Valid Referral Attribution
A prospect must arrive at the Techies Africa campaign page through your unique referral link and must not have previously clicked a different participant's referral link. Your referral attribution must be active and within the 90-day attribution window at the time the prospect books a discovery call.
Condition 2 — Signed Contract
The referred prospect must enter into a signed service agreement with Techies Africa for one or more of our qualifying services. The contract must have a minimum total value of ₦1,000,000 (One Million Naira). Qualifying services are defined in Section A5 below.
Condition 3 — Payment Cleared
The referred client must make their first contracted payment and that payment must clear in full into Techies Africa's designated account. A payment is considered cleared when Techies Africa's bank confirms the funds are available and not subject to reversal.
No commission is earned, owed, or payable until all three conditions above are fully satisfied.
A2. Commission Rate Schedule
Your commission is calculated as a percentage of the total contracted project value — the full value of the signed service agreement between Techies Africa and the referred client. The applicable rates are as follows:
Tier 1 — ₦1,000,000 – ₦2,500,000 | Rate: 2.0% | Earnings: ₦20,000 – ₦50,000
Tier 2 — ₦2,500,001 – ₦7,500,000 | Rate: 3.0% | Earnings: ₦75,030 – ₦225,000
Tier 3 — ₦7,500,001 – ₦20,000,000 | Rate: 4.0% | Earnings: ₦300,040 – ₦800,000
Tier 4 — Above ₦20,000,000 | Rate: 5.0% | Earnings: ₦1,000,000 and above
Not Eligible — Under ₦1,000,000 | Rate: 0% | Earnings: ₦0
The following clarifications apply to the rate schedule above:
The commission rate is applied to the total contracted project value, not to individual milestone payments or instalments. A contract worth ₦8,000,000 payable in four instalments of ₦2,000,000 each earns a Tier 3 commission of 4% on the full ₦8,000,000 — not four separate Tier 1 calculations.
Each tier rate applies to the entire contract value, not only to the portion above the tier threshold. A contract worth ₦3,000,000 earns 3.0% of the full ₦3,000,000.
Where a contract value falls exactly on a tier boundary, the lower tier applies. Tier boundaries are inclusive at their lower bound and exclusive at their upper bound.
A3. Commission Calculation Method
Your commission is calculated using the following formula:
Commission = FLOOR (Total Contracted Value × Commission Rate)
The FLOOR function means the result is rounded down to the nearest whole Naira. No fractions of a Naira are paid. For example, a commission of ₦75,037.50 is paid as ₦75,037.
Your commission amount is locked at the point Techies Africa confirms the signed contract in its internal system. The rate applied is the rate in effect on the date your referral first booked a discovery call — not the date the contract was signed, and not the date of payout.
This means that if Techies Africa changes its commission rates after your referral books a call, you are protected: your commission is calculated at the rate that was in effect when your referral entered the pipeline.
A4. Rate Change Policy
Techies Africa reserves the right to amend the commission rate schedule at any time. The following rules apply to any rate change:
Rate changes will be communicated to all registered Programme participants by email to their registered address a minimum of 30 calendar days before the new rates take effect.
Referrals whose attribution was established — meaning a discovery call was booked — before the effective date of a rate change will be honoured at the rate in effect at the time the call was booked, regardless of when the contract is eventually signed.
Referrals whose attribution is established on or after the effective date of a rate change will be subject to the new rate schedule.
Rate changes do not apply retroactively to any referral already in the pipeline.
A5. Qualifying Services
Commissions are payable only on referrals that result in a signed agreement for one or more of the following Techies Africa services:
Custom Software Development — including web applications, mobile applications, MVP builds, product rebuilds, and API and backend systems
Product Management as a Service — including PM retainer engagements, strategy and roadmap services, and sprint facilitation
Digital Transformation for SMEs
Commissions are not payable on the following:
Product subscriptions — including Devpilot, RapidAid, Bellefest, or any other Techies Africa software product
Training or educational programme enrolments
Media or sponsorship agreements
Any service not explicitly listed above as a qualifying service
If you are uncertain whether a referral would qualify, contact support@techies.africa before making the referral.
Part B — Attribution Rules
B1. Attribution Model
The Techies Africa Affiliate Referral Programme uses a first-click attribution model. This means the commission is awarded to the Programme participant whose referral link was clicked first by a prospect. If the same prospect later clicks a different participant's referral link, the commission still belongs to the first participant whose link was clicked — provided the 90-day attribution window has not expired.
If a prospect arrives at the Techies Africa campaign page without clicking any referral link, that prospect is not attributable to any Programme participant, regardless of any subsequent claim.
B2. Attribution Window
Your referral attribution is valid for 90 calendar days from the date and time the prospect first clicks your referral link. If a prospect clicks your link but does not book a discovery call within 90 days of that first click, the attribution expires.
The 90-day window is measured from the timestamp of the first recorded link click in our system — not from any other date.
B3. Attribution Tracking
Attribution is tracked via a persistent browser cookie set when a prospect clicks your referral link. The cookie has a 90-day lifespan consistent with the attribution window. You should be aware of the following technical limitations:
If a prospect clears their browser cookies between clicking your link and booking a discovery call, attribution may be lost.
If a prospect uses a different browser or device between clicking your link and booking a call, attribution may not carry across.
Incognito or private browsing sessions may not retain the attribution cookie.
These are known limitations of cookie-based attribution. Techies Africa does not guarantee attribution in the above scenarios and accepts no liability for lost attribution resulting from prospect behaviour or technical limitations.
B4. Self-Referral Prohibition
You may not refer yourself, any company you own or control, any company in which you hold a financial interest, or any company whose management is a close family member. Self-referrals — detected automatically or manually — will be voided and are not eligible for commission.
Self-referral detection is based on, but not limited to: email address matching between the participant and the referred prospect, shared IP address matching, and manual review triggered by suspicious patterns.
Intentional self-referral constitutes a material breach of the Terms of Service and may result in permanent Programme termination and recovery of any commissions previously paid in error.
Part C — Payout Terms
C1. Payout Trigger
Your commission becomes payable — and a payout is scheduled — when Techies Africa confirms that the referred client has made their first contracted payment and that payment has cleared. A payout being "scheduled" means it has been queued for processing by our finance team. Scheduling is not the same as payment — it means your payout will be processed within the timelines set out in C2 below.
C2. Payout Timeline
Techies Africa will process your payout within 7 calendar days of the referred client's first payment clearing. "Processing" means the bank transfer is initiated. Bank clearance times beyond our control — typically 1 to 3 business days for Nigerian bank transfers — are not included in the 7-day commitment.
If your payout is not initiated within 7 calendar days of the client's payment clearing, please contact support@techies.africa. We will investigate and resolve any delay promptly.
C3. Payout Method
All payouts are made by direct bank transfer to the Nigerian bank account you registered at the time of signup or subsequently updated in your referral dashboard. We currently support payouts to Nigerian commercial banks only — any bank operating under the Nigerian NUBAN account number standard. International bank accounts are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@techies.africa before registering if you require international payment.
We do not make payouts via cash, cheque, cryptocurrency, mobile money, or any method other than bank transfer.
C4. Payout Currency
All payouts are made in Nigerian Naira (NGN). We do not make payouts in any other currency. If you registered a bank account denominated in a currency other than NGN, you bear any currency conversion costs and risks. Techies Africa is not responsible for exchange rate losses or conversion fees applied by your bank.
C5. Bank Details Accuracy
You are solely responsible for ensuring that the bank account details registered in your dashboard are correct and current. Techies Africa will initiate transfers to the account details you have provided and bears no responsibility for payments made to incorrect accounts where the error is attributable to information you provided.
If a payout fails because of incorrect bank details, Techies Africa will notify you, and you will have the opportunity to provide corrected details. A revised payout will be initiated within 7 calendar days of receiving and verifying the corrected details.
Techies Africa will not re-issue a payment that has been successfully received by the financial institution you specified, regardless of the reason the funds were not received by you personally.
C6. Payout Confirmation
When your payout is initiated, you will receive an email confirmation to your registered address containing: the amount transferred, the bank and account name the transfer was directed to, a bank transfer reference number, and the date the transfer was initiated. Retain this confirmation for your own records.
If you do not receive a confirmation within the 7-day payout window, contact support@techies.africa immediately.
C7. Failed Payouts
If a payout fails because your bank rejects the transfer for any reason — including incorrect account details, a dormant account, or account closure — Techies Africa will:
Notify you by email within 2 business days of receiving the rejection notification from our bank
Request that you update your bank details in your referral dashboard
Re-initiate the transfer within 7 calendar days of you providing verified updated details
If a payout remains unclaimed or unprocessable for more than 90 calendar days from the scheduled payout date due to participant inaction, Techies Africa reserves the right to treat the payout as forfeited. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before this occurs.
C8. Minimum Payout Amount
There is no minimum payout amount. All eligible commissions, regardless of size, will be processed and paid on the standard timeline set out in C2.
C9. Tax Obligations
All commission income is yours to declare and pay applicable taxes on in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction. Techies Africa does not withhold taxes on commission payments in v1.0 of the Programme. This position will be reviewed as the Programme scales and as FIRS guidance evolves.
You are responsible for understanding and fulfilling any income tax, withholding tax, or value-added tax obligations arising from your participation in the Programme. Techies Africa is not your employer, and commission payments do not constitute employment income paid by Techies Africa — they are referral commissions paid to an independent participant.
If you require a record of payments received for tax purposes, your referral dashboard maintains a complete earnings history, and you may export a statement at any time.
C10. Bonus Ledger and Disputes
Techies Africa maintains an internal bonus ledger — an immutable, append-only financial record of all commissions calculated, confirmed, and paid under the Programme. This ledger is the authoritative record in any dispute about commission amounts.
If you believe your commission has been calculated incorrectly, you must raise the dispute within 30 calendar days of receiving the commission confirmation notification. Disputes raised after this period may not be accepted.
To raise a dispute, email support@techies.africa with the subject line "Commission Dispute — [Your Referral Code]" and provide the referral details and the basis for your dispute.
Part D — General Financial Terms
D1. No Advance Payments
Techies Africa does not make advance commission payments, provisional payments, or payments based on projected contract values. All payments are made only after a contract is signed and a first payment has cleared, as described in Part C.
D2. Commission on Amended Contracts
If a contract is amended after signing — whether to increase or decrease the total project value — Techies Africa will honour the commission based on the original signed contract value. Amended contract values are not reflected in commission calculations unless Techies Africa, at its sole discretion, agrees in writing to recalculate.
D3. Commission on Partial Contracts
If a referred client signs a contract and pays a first instalment but subsequently defaults or terminates the engagement before the full contract value is paid, your commission is still calculated on the full contracted value — not on the amount actually paid. This is because the commission trigger is the first payment clearing, not the full settlement of the contract.
D4. No Commission Clawback
Once a commission is paid to you — confirmed as PAYOUT_PAID in our system — Techies Africa will not seek to claw back or recover that commission except in the following circumstances:
The referral is subsequently determined to have been a self-referral
The commission was paid in error due to a system fault or manual error
Fraud or material misrepresentation is discovered after payment
In the above circumstances, Techies Africa will notify you in writing and provide details of the basis for recovery. Recovery will first be offset against any future commissions owed before any direct recovery action is sought.
D5. Programme Suspension and Termination
If your Programme participation is suspended or terminated for any reason, commissions for referrals already in the pipeline at the time of suspension — where the discovery call was booked before the suspension — will continue to be processed and paid in accordance with this Pricing Policy, provided the suspension was not caused by fraud, self-referral, or a material breach of the Terms of Service.
Referrals whose discovery call is booked on or after the date of suspension are not eligible for commission.
This Pricing Policy is part of the Techies Africa Affiliate Referral Programme framework. It is subject to change in accordance with the rate change provisions in Section A4. The current version is always available at techies.africa/affiliate/pricing-policy.
